When is the best time to take a pregnancy test?

When to take a pregnancy test depends on your monthly menstrual cycle. If it’s like clockwork (every 28 – 30 days), we recommend taking your test a day or two after your late period.

If your menstrual cycle is irregular, you should wait 5 or 6 days. The longer you wait after your missed period, the more accurate your results are. Because our tests are more sensitive than others, you can get an accurate result earlier.

How does a pregnancy test work?

When you’re pregnant, your body produces a hormone called hCG, human chorionic gonadotropin. After a fertilized egg implants on the uterine wall, hCG begins to build up in your body rapidly. The hormone eventually becomes detectable in your blood and urine.

Our pregnancy test detects the amount of hCG hormone in your urine to determine if you’re pregnant. A medical staff member will administer the test, so you are assured your test results are accurate.

The Test Was Positive! Now What?

Following a positive pregnancy test from our center, you meet with a medical team member for a medical consultation. In addition to your free pregnancy test and ultrasound, your consultation includes a one-on-one session with a licensed member of our medical team.

They will discuss your final pregnancy diagnosis and your ultrasound results. The team member reviews your pregnancy options, including abortion procedures, making an adoption plan, or parenting.
